Welcome to your daily newsletter from Emergency Services Times, brought to you today in partnership with North Fire.
I'll never cease to be amazed by the incredible ability of our emergency services to join forces to boost preparedness for major incidents. The recent Operation 950 in Chichester, which simulated a fire in the city's cathedral, is a perfect example of how all the hard work and time spent planning comes together.
Given the terrible damage that was caused during the Notre-Dame fire in 2019, such exercises are vital for proactively safeguarding our own history which, in the case of Chichester Cathedral, spans more than 900 years and counting.
